Udaipur to Nathdwara One Way Taxi

Udaipur to Nathdwara One Way Taxi

Nathdwara is 48 km north of Udaipur, about an hour and fifteen minutes on NH48, and it is the single most requested short route we run. The draw is the Shrinathji Temple – one of the most important Vaishnav shrines in India, where the deity is a form of Krishna as a seven-year-old, brought here from Vrindavan in 1672 to keep it safe from Aurangzeb.

We run Udaipur to Nathdwara taxi as a one-way drop, as a round trip waiting at the temple, and as a half or full day combined with Eklingji and Haldighati, which both sit on the same road.

Darshan: What to Expect

Shrinathji does not work like a temple you can drop into. Darshan happens in a sequence of set viewings through the day – mangla, shringar, gwal, rajbhog, uthapan, bhog, sandhya aarti and shayan – each lasting a short while, with the shrine closed between them. Timings shift with the season and the festival calendar, so the single most useful thing you can do is check the current schedule for your date before you set out.

Mobile phones, cameras and leather are not permitted inside, and there are lockers outside the temple for them. Expect queues at festivals, especially Janmashtami, Annakut and Diwali, when Nathdwara fills completely.

Our driver waits in the parking area while you go in, so you are not watching the clock or hunting for a return cab afterwards. Tell us which darshan you are aiming for and we will set the pickup time to match it rather than guessing.

What Else Is Worth Seeing

  • Statue of Belief – the 369-foot Shiva statue at Nathdwara, among the tallest in the world, a few minutes from the temple.
  • Eklingji and Nagda – 22 km from Udaipur and directly on the route. A 10th-century Shiva temple complex and the ruined Sas-Bahu temples. The natural first stop of the day.
  • Haldighati – 40 km from Udaipur, the 1576 battlefield where Maharana Pratap fought Akbar’s army, with Chetak’s cenotaph and the Maharana Pratap museum.
  • Charbhuja Temple, Garhbor – another significant Vaishnav shrine, about 35 km on from Nathdwara.

A single day combining Eklingji, Nathdwara and Haldighati is comfortable and the way most of our guests do it. See our Eklingji tour and Haldighati taxi pages.

One Way or Round Trip?

We quote both. On a one-way drop the car still has to return empty, and that empty leg – dead mileage – is built into most one-way fares in Rajasthan. Where we can pair your drop with a passenger travelling the other way it disappears and the fare comes down, which is why it is worth giving us a specific date rather than assuming the per-km rate times the distance is final.

What we will not do is quote one figure and add the return leg as a surprise at the end of the journey. See our Udaipur outstation taxi page for all routes.

How to Book

  1. Send the details. WhatsApp or email your date, pickup time, pickup address, passenger count and luggage.
  2. Get the quote. We reply with the vehicle and the fare, including any state permit charge if the route leaves Rajasthan.
  3. Confirm. A 25% advance holds the vehicle; Indian guests by bank transfer or UPI, international guests by PayPal or Wise.

Frequently Asked Questions: Udaipur to Nathdwara Taxi

Distance, fares, darshan timings and what you cannot take inside.

How far is Nathdwara from Udaipur?
About 48 km, an hour and fifteen minutes on NH48 heading north. Eklingji sits at the 22 km mark, directly on the way.
How much is a taxi from Udaipur to Nathdwara?
We quote on our per-kilometre rates – from ₹12/km for a sedan, ₹16/km for an Ertiga or Innova – with fuel, driver allowance, tax and toll included. A round trip with waiting time and a one-way drop are priced differently, so call +91 86193 15547 with your date for a firm figure.
What are the Shrinathji darshan timings?
Darshan runs as a series of set viewings through the day rather than continuous opening, with the shrine closed in between. The schedule shifts with the season and the festival calendar, so check the current timings for your date before travelling. Tell us which darshan you are aiming for and we will set the pickup to match.
Can I take my phone into Shrinathji Temple?
No. Mobile phones, cameras and leather items are not permitted inside, and lockers are available outside the temple for them.
Is a day trip from Udaipur to Nathdwara possible?
Yes, comfortably. A round trip with darshan takes five to six hours, so it is a half day. Most of our guests make a full day of it by adding Eklingji on the way out and Haldighati on the way back.
Can the driver wait while I do darshan?
Yes. On a round trip the driver waits in the parking area, which means you are not watching the clock or looking for a return cab afterwards. Waiting time is included in the round-trip quote.
What is the Statue of Belief at Nathdwara?
A 369-foot statue of Shiva, among the tallest statues in the world, a few minutes from the temple. It is worth the stop even if the temple is your main reason for coming.
When is Nathdwara busiest?
At festivals – Janmashtami, Annakut and Diwali above all – when the town fills and queues are long. Weekends are busier than weekdays year round. If you have a choice, a weekday morning outside the festival calendar is far easier.
Can you continue from Nathdwara to Kumbhalgarh or Jodhpur?
Yes. Nathdwara to Kumbhalgarh is about 55 km, and Jodhpur about 220 km, so either works as an onward leg rather than a return to Udaipur. Tell us the full route and we will quote it as one journey.
How do I book a Udaipur to Nathdwara taxi?
WhatsApp +91 99838 89373 or email rajasthanonwheeltours@gmail.com with your date, pickup time and address, how many passengers, and whether you want a one-way drop or a round trip with waiting. A 25% advance confirms it.
