How One Way Taxi Pricing Actually Works

This is the part most operators leave vague, so here it is plainly. When you book a one-way drop from Udaipur to Jaipur, the car still has to get back to Udaipur. That empty return leg is called dead mileage, and somebody pays for it. Most one-way quotes in Rajasthan are therefore built on more than the one-way distance.

Where we can pair your drop with a passenger travelling the other way, the dead mileage disappears and the fare drops accordingly. That is why it is worth asking us for a specific date rather than assuming the published per-km rate times the distance is the final answer – sometimes it is less.

What we will not do is quote you a one-way figure and then add the return leg as a surprise at the end of the journey. You get the number before you book.

Not included: parking, monument entry fees, and extra night halts beyond the agreed plan on multi-day trips.
Payment: 25% advance to confirm; balance by cash, UPI or card at the end of the trip.

Adding Stops Along the Way

The best part of travelling Rajasthan by road is what sits between the cities, and a train cannot stop for it. On the Udaipur–Jodhpur route you pass Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh. On the way to Jaipur you pass Chittorgarh, and Pushkar is a short detour. Udaipur to Mount Abu runs close to Ranakpur too.

Stops that sit on the route and take an hour or two are usually absorbed into the fare. A detour that adds significant distance, or a stop long enough to need a night halt, changes the quote – so tell us what you want to see when you enquire and we will build it in rather than renegotiate it on the road.
