Udaipur Tour Packages

Udaipur Tour Packages and Itineraries

Udaipur rewards a slower visit than most people give it. One day covers the City Palace, Jagdish Temple and a boat ride on Lake Pichola. Two days adds Sajjangarh, Saheliyon ki Bari and the craft workshops. Three days lets you take in Kumbhalgarh, Ranakpur or Nathdwara without rushing any of it. Below are the Udaipur tour packages we run most often, each with a day-by-day plan, so you can pick the length that fits your trip and we will shape the rest around you.

Every package is private: your own licensed guide, your own AC vehicle and a start time that suits you, not a coach timetable. Rajasthan On Wheel Tours has been arranging these since 2009, and we hold the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice award for 2022 to 2025.

Udaipur Itinerary: One Day in the City

A single well-planned day covers the essentials. This is the order we use, timed to keep you ahead of the worst crowds.

  • Morning. Gangaur Ghat and the old city lanes while they are quiet, then Jagdish Temple as the morning prayers finish.
  • Late morning. City Palace – allow two hours for Mor Chowk, Moti Mahal, Manek Mahal and the Zenana Mahal.
  • Lunch. A local restaurant in the old city.
  • Afternoon. A miniature-painting demonstration, then Saheliyon ki Bari and Fateh Sagar Lake.
  • Late afternoon. The Lake Pichola boat ride, which is at its best in the last two hours of light.
  • Optional evening. The folk dance show at Bagore Ki Haveli, or sunset from Sajjangarh.

Udaipur Itinerary: 3 Days

Three days is the length we recommend if Udaipur is the main stop on your trip. It covers the city properly and leaves a full day for the forts.

Day 1 – the old city and the lake. Gangaur Ghat, Jagdish Temple, City Palace, a craft stop and the Lake Pichola boat ride in the late afternoon. Evening at Bagore Ki Haveli for the folk dance.

Day 2 – gardens, museums and the hill. Saheliyon ki Bari, Fateh Sagar Lake, Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal and Shilpgram, then Sajjangarh (the Monsoon Palace) for sunset over the Aravallis. Ahar Cenotaphs if you have an hour spare.

Day 3 – the forts, or the temples. Either a full day to Kumbhalgarh Fort and Ranakpur Jain Temple, about 85 and 90 km out, or a temple-and-history day to Eklingji, Nathdwara and Haldighati. Both return to Udaipur the same evening.

Travelling with us on a 2 nights / 3 days basis? That package is set out in full on our Udaipur 2 nights 3 days tour page.

When to Visit Udaipur

October to March is the season. Days are warm rather than hot, evenings are cool enough for a rooftop dinner, and the lakes are full after the monsoon. This is also when hotels and vehicles book out, so confirm a package four to six weeks ahead for December and January travel.

April to June is hot, often above 40°C by midday, and suits an early-morning and late-afternoon itinerary with a long break in between. July to September brings the monsoon: fewer visitors, lower rates, and the Aravallis at their greenest, with the occasional washed-out afternoon.

How to Book a Udaipur Tour Package

  1. Tell us your dates and length. Email or WhatsApp your arrival and departure dates, the number of travellers, your hotel category if you want hotels included, and your guide language.
  2. We send a costed itinerary. A day-by-day plan with the vehicle, the guide and the price, usually within a few hours.
  3. Confirm with an advance. Indian guests pay by bank transfer or UPI, international guests by PayPal or Wise. We confirm bookings only after the advance is received.

Frequently Asked Questions: Udaipur Tour Packages

Itinerary lengths, what is included and how to book.

What is the best 3 day Udaipur itinerary?
Day 1: the old city and the lake – Gangaur Ghat, Jagdish Temple, City Palace and the Lake Pichola boat ride in the late afternoon, with the folk dance at Bagore Ki Haveli in the evening. Day 2: Saheliyon ki Bari, Fateh Sagar, Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal and Shilpgram, finishing with sunset at Sajjangarh. Day 3: a full day out to Kumbhalgarh Fort and Ranakpur Jain Temple, or a temple day to Eklingji, Nathdwara and Haldighati.
Is 2 days enough for Udaipur?
Yes, two days covers the city well. You get the City Palace, Jagdish Temple, the boat ride, the gardens, the folk-art museum and sunset at Sajjangarh. What you give up is the day trip – Kumbhalgarh, Ranakpur and Chittorgarh all need a full day each, so they are the first thing to go on a two-day visit.
How many days do you need in Udaipur?
Two to three days for the city and one nearby excursion. One day is enough only if you accept that you are seeing the highlights and nothing else. Four days lets you add both the Kumbhalgarh–Ranakpur day and the Nathdwara–Haldighati day without a rushed morning.
What is included in your Udaipur tour packages?
A licensed local guide for sightseeing days, a private AC vehicle with driver, hotel or airport pickup and drop, the Lake Pichola boat ride ticket where the day tour is included, parking charges, driver allowance, state tax and toll. Monument entry and camera fees, meals, tips and hotel accommodation are not included unless your package is quoted with hotels.
How much does a Udaipur tour package cost?
It depends on the length, your hotel category, the group size and the season, so we quote each itinerary individually rather than publish a figure that would be wrong for most travellers. As a reference point, our one-day guided sightseeing tour starts from ₹2000 per person with a minimum of three travellers. Send us your dates for a costed itinerary.
Can you customise a Udaipur itinerary for us?
Yes – every package we run is private, so the stops, the order and the pace are yours to set. Tell us what you care about, whether that is temples, crafts, photography, food or simply a slower day, and we will build the route around it.
Do your packages include hotels?
We can quote with or without hotels. Many guests book their own stay and take the guide and vehicle from us; others prefer a single quote covering the hotel as well. Tell us which you want and your preferred hotel category.
Can we add Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur to a Udaipur package?
Yes, and it is the most common addition. The two sit about 85 and 90 km from Udaipur on the same route, so they work together as one full day with an early start and an evening return.
Which languages are your guides available in?
English and Hindi as standard. German, French, Spanish and Italian guides are available on request, subject to availability in peak season, so please name your language when you enquire.
When is the best time to visit Udaipur?
October to March. The weather suits sightseeing and the lakes are full. It is also the busiest period, so book four to six weeks ahead for December and January.
