Rajasthan Taxi Service: Tour Rajasthan by Car with a Driver

Rajasthan is a driving state. The cities that matter sit four to eight hours apart, the forts and temples worth stopping for are in between them, and the trains connect only some of the pairs. A Rajasthan tour by car with your own driver solves all three problems at once: you travel door to door, you stop where you like, and your luggage never leaves the boot.

Rajasthan On Wheel Tours has provided chauffeur-driven cars across the state since 2009, based in Udaipur with a branch in Jaipur. Our Rajasthan taxi service covers single transfers, multi-day tours and full itineraries of two weeks or more, with the same vehicle and the same driver for the whole trip.

Rajasthan Car Rental: What a Chauffeur Driven Car Includes

Every booking is a car with a driver. We do not rent self-drive vehicles, and for Rajasthan that is the right answer – the roads reward local knowledge, and a driver who knows where to park at Amber Fort saves you more time than you would expect.

  • A private AC vehicle for your group alone, sized to your passengers and luggage.
  • An experienced local driver who knows the routes, the fort entrances and the hotel lanes.
  • Fuel, driver allowance, state tax and toll, all in the quoted fare.
  • The same car and driver throughout, so you unpack once.
  • Licensed guides on request in each city, in English, Hindi, German, French, Spanish or Italian.

Not included: parking, monument entry and camera fees, meals, hotels unless your tour is quoted with them, and tips.

Sample Rajasthan Tour Routes by Car

Four routes that work. Each can start or end in Udaipur, Jaipur, Delhi or Ahmedabad, and each can be stretched or shortened by a day.

7 days – Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaipur. Two nights Udaipur, drive to Jodhpur via Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh, two nights Jodhpur, drive to Jaipur via Ajmer and Pushkar, two nights Jaipur. The best first trip to Rajasthan.

10 days – the desert added. As above, with two nights Jaisalmer between Jodhpur and Jaipur, including a desert camp and the Sam dunes. The Jodhpur–Jaisalmer–Bikaner stretch is long driving, which is exactly why a car beats the alternatives.

6 days – Golden Triangle with Udaipur. Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and then Udaipur by road or a short flight. For visitors who want the Taj Mahal and one Rajasthani lake city.

14 days – the full state. Delhi, Mandawa, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Ranakpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Pushkar, Jaipur, Agra. Unhurried, and the version most of our repeat guests end up taking.

Udaipur-only itineraries are on our Udaipur tour packages page, and our full package list is on Rajasthan tour packages.

Rajasthan Taxi Rates per Kilometre

Multi-day tours are quoted per kilometre on our published 2026–27 rates, with the total built from the route you choose:

Vehicle Seats Best for Per km rate
Sedan (Swift Dzire, Etios) 4 Couples, two travellers with light luggage ₹12/km
Ertiga / Toyota Innova 6 Families on a multi-city route ₹16/km
Innova Crysta / Hycross 7 Long daily drives in comfort ₹18–20/km
Tempo Traveller 12–17 Group tours ₹30/km

Payment: 25% advance to confirm. Balance by cash, UPI or card at the end of the trip. Indian guests pay the advance by bank transfer or UPI; international guests by PayPal or Wise.

Why Travel Rajasthan with a Private Driver

  • The stops between cities are the trip. Ranakpur, Kumbhalgarh, Chittorgarh, Abhaneri, Fatehpur Sikri – none of them has a railway station worth using.
  • Heat management. From March onwards you want to be moving in the cool hours and inside at midday. A private car lets you set that; a tour bus does not.
  • One driver who learns your pace. By day three he knows whether you want the early start or the late breakfast.
  • Luggage. Rajasthan shopping is heavy. The boot absorbs it.
  • Families and older travellers. Door-to-door matters most when stairs, platforms and long walks are the problem.

Our Base and Our Branch

Our head office is in Udaipur and our branch office is in Jaipur, so we can start a tour from either end of the state and we hold vehicles in both. We have been operating since 2009 and hold the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice award for 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Frequently Asked Questions: Rajasthan Taxi Service

Costs, the driver, state permits and when a train is the better option.

How much does a car with driver cost for a week in Rajasthan?
We quote multi-day tours on our per-kilometre rates rather than a flat weekly figure, because a week spent between Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaipur covers very different distances from a week based in one city. As a guide, that seven-day route is around 1,100 to 1,200 km of driving, so you can work out an indicative total from the rate for your vehicle – ₹12/km for a sedan, ₹16/km for an Ertiga or Innova, ₹18–20/km for an Innova Crysta. Call +91 86193 15547 for a firm quote for your route and dates.
Do I need to pay for the driver’s meals and stay?
No. The driver allowance is already in the fare we quote, and it covers his food and his accommodation on multi-day trips. You are not asked for it separately on the road, and you do not need to arrange a room for him.
Is a car and driver better than trains for Rajasthan?
For most itineraries, yes – the forts and temples between the cities, Ranakpur, Kumbhalgarh, Chittorgarh, Abhaneri and Fatehpur Sikri, are reachable only by road, and door-to-door travel with luggage is far easier. But trains genuinely win on two counts: the long overnight hauls such as Udaipur to Delhi are more comfortable and much cheaper by rail, and a single city-to-city hop on a well-served route can be quicker. We will tell you when the train is the better choice for a leg.
Do you provide self-drive car rental in Rajasthan?
No. Every vehicle comes with a driver. For Rajasthan that is deliberate: the routes, the parking at monuments and the city lanes all go more smoothly with a driver who works them daily, and it removes the risk of a hire-car dispute far from home.
Will the same driver stay with us for the whole tour?
Yes. The same vehicle and the same driver stay with you from the first pickup to the final drop. Your luggage stays in the car, and you are not re-explaining the plan to someone new each morning.
Are there extra charges for crossing into other states?
Routes leaving Rajasthan – into Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh or Delhi – carry a state permit charge. We include it in the quote rather than adding it at the border, so the figure you agree is the figure you pay.
Which vehicle should we book for a Rajasthan tour?
For two people, a sedan is fine if you travel light; for two with full suitcases, take an Ertiga. Families of four to six should book an Ertiga or Innova, and an Innova Crysta if you have several 300 km-plus days. Nine or more travellers need a Tempo Traveller or Force Urbania.
Can you include hotels and guides in the tour?
Yes. We can quote the car and driver alone, or a complete tour with hotels in your preferred category and licensed guides in each city. Guides are available in English and Hindi as standard, and in German, French, Spanish and Italian on request.
How far in advance should we book a Rajasthan tour by car?
Four to six weeks for travel between October and March, which is peak season, and longer if your dates fall over Christmas, New Year or Diwali. Outside those months a week or two is usually enough.
How do we book?
Email rajasthanonwheeltours@gmail.com or WhatsApp +91 99838 89373 with your arrival and departure dates, the cities you want to cover, the number of travellers and whether you need hotels and guides. We reply with a day-by-day itinerary and a price, and a 25% advance confirms it.
